NOAA Weather Buoy

The Clipper will rest near 26.1 N, 97.3 W which is approximately 100 miles southwest of the nearest NOAA weather buoy, #42020. Additional NOAA information is available from the nearby land based Port Isabel and Mission Aransas Reserve Stations. There is an additional buoy in the area that tracks wind only, #42045.

Recent Trip Notes

The Gulf tends to have a short wave interval, and high winds can certainly mean rough seas. Summer tends to be calmer and flatter than winter and spring, when strong Arctic winds bear down from the north.
